22nd Birthday...

This year I had a really nice quiet birthday celebration. First I went with uni friends to Featherston for a bush walk around lake Papanui, and then afterwards went to a really nice restaurant in Greytown for dinner. It was a hot rock restaurant where you got to cook your meat yourself on a hot rock slab! I have never done that before, and it was really nice!!

This year my birthday fell on a Tuesday so everyone in my family was busy with work, study etc. My family and I therefore celebrated my birthday in the following weekend when we drove to Havelock North for the weekend...

Enjoying the holiday...

Holidays have been good. Out of the blue I decided to get a job so I looked up in the Hutt News and rang up several places. I n the end I landed with a callcentre job working at Kiwifirst, fundraising for charities over the phone- telemarketing.

Very interesting holiday indeed. Started working at the call centre- Kiwifirst, but retired after the first two weeks. Mmmm. Was the most dullest thing you can possibly imagine!! I decided that I would much rather live under a palm tree and eat dry bread and drink rain water- rather than work at a student job!!! Seriously.

Enrolled for my honours year and was accepted-yippee! Was really worried about it but it all worked out well. I’m taking 3 papers and a project. In the first trimester I’m doing genetics, biodiversity and a project and then in the second trimester the same thing but instead of biodiversity it’s evolution. So 3 papers per term.

Got my project sorted out- it all worked out so I will be doing my project at Wellington hospital working with cytogenetics data! Just what I wanted! …I don’t really know how I feel about starting my honours year, kind of nervous. I don’t know what it will be like.

But anyhow, at the moment I’m just enjoying my holiday, relaxing and having fun.
