Ode to the calculator

This calculator I've had for the past 9 years since the begining of yr 7 when we first needed a scientific calculator. Dad bought it home from work for me, so it is probably even older than 9 years. Anyway the interesting thing about this calculator is that it worked backwards, kind of, and people got innoyed with it. For example, if you wanted to get the square root of something, you had to type the number first and then square root it... anyway it's hard to explain. But I knew how to use it and liked it. It even had its original batteries that have never been changed! When Linda started college I lent her the calculator. Sigh. And now it's officially broken :( Anyway this photo will be here now in its memory.
This is a song I wrote for yr 9 music in 2001 and I think it will be appropriate here:
Everything changes
Time goes by
the birds they fly away,
The leaves turn brown
it's the sign of autumn,
Time passes by
it can never stand still.
Everything changes
it just changes,
Nothing lasts forever
nothing ever stands still.
A person's life
flows as a river,
It flows on
and on and on,
We find there's always
always something changes.
Our life moves on
along its road.
Everything changes,
it just changes.
Nothing lasts forever,
nothing ever stands still.
