...things to say...
What a week! So glad it is over, I feel so tired! On Wednesday I had my bio lab which was a great disappointment. Last week we mated flies and were expecting to observe their offspring. But we had absolutely none, not even eggs! After examining our flies it turned out that we only had female flies left in the bottle and all the males had died! So disappointing.
Our new lecturer for genetics is so dull!! So far this term I’ve only had interesting lecturers for my subjects so I wasn’t used to falling asleep in class. Now it’s a snooze. By the way my theory about lecturers still holds true: The interesting lecturers supply students with the full lecture notes (on the computer) because they know that students will come to class anyway. On the other hand the dull lecturers tend to not give full lecture notes and make you write your own or make you ‘fill in the gaps’ because if they gave full lecture notes no one would come to class! This theory holds true for biology lecturers. Following this theory I suspected that we would have a dull lecturer when I looked on blackboard and found that we get only lecture outlines for the last few weeks of genetics. Yesterday my hypothesis was confirmed (unfortunately).
Linda had Mrs Blackburn for science yesterday because their teacher decided to be away, so her class had science in Mrs Blackburn’s classroom E3. She asked Linda about me. Yeay she remembers me :)!!
In 2005 (7th form) the school had one computer projector (like the ones they use at uni for lectures, with big screens connected to computers) which was in E25 our physics room. According to Linda they now have way more in various classrooms including E3. That is so good! It will be so much easier for students and teachers! Whiteboards are really weird to write neatly on (my opinion) and when light reflects off it it’s really hard for students to read stuff off it. So yes since one of my life ambitions is to teach at SHC this improvement would be very beneficial. I hate writing on whiteboards! Chalkboards were way better, but we only had them in primary school. The world of advancing technology moves so fast!
So glad it is the weekend now! I really need a break, luckily I only have an English essay to write so I can have (or at least try to have) a relatively peaceful weekend…I hope….
On Sunday there will be a global dance festival on at Te Papa and my mum and Linda will be performing! Will post more about it afterwards!
