Holiday time...and stamps

My faxourite stamp... (above) There is a whole story behind this stamp (will tell it sometime later)
It has been very nice being on holiday! At first it felt a bit strange not having any study to do since that's what I've been doing for the whole year (yes, the last time I did absolutely nothing was last summer holidays! Of course we had mid semester breaks and everything but still it was pretty busy and chaotic!) but now I'm finally in holiday mode and so doing noghing feels absolutely wonderful! I've been reading, painting and stamp collecting! Yes I have discovered a new hooby; stamp collecting, and boy is it addictive! One of my friends ntroduced stamps to me (who has a gigantic collection!) and I was so fascinated that I decided to start one of my own! A friend gave me some stamps and so for the past week I have been soaking stamps! It's amazing how much you can learn from soaking stamps! About the history of NZ etc etc. I'm specialising in NZ stamps, and they are fascinating! Soaking stamps can keep you ientertained for hours on end and it never gets dull! I think I'm going crazy about stamps!! But now I've got to the boring part where I inserted them all into a book and am waiting for them to flatten out. Boring!! The next stage would be to classify them all according to a stamp catalogue that I have...but for that I have to wait, so in the meantime I've been doing some painting, and working on eye excercises.

The other day I went to the dentist; I was convinced that I would get a whole bunch of fillings, but it turnied out that all is well! :) Relief!

Results have also come out and now I can officially say that I have completed my Bachelor of Science degree!! :):) Feeling very happy about my results! A nice way to end my undergraduate education at Vic. Now I am officially a postgraduate student! The plans about my project for next yearv are slowely coming through; the other week I went for a meeting with the woman in charge of genetic counselling program at Wellington hospital, and all was well! We talked about some of the possible projects that I could do in the hospital. Afterwards she showed me around the cytogenetics lab!! Wow! I was absolutely stumped to see how amazing it was! Everyone there was doing work on chromosomes belonging to real live patients! The technology was so sophisticated and I got to see some of the analysis methods that they carried out! It was especially thrilling since I've been learning about all these methods in all my genetics courses this year! I did not want to leave! I loved the working environment and everyone was really nice! I pray that everything for my project will work out. :):):):)

Something else exciting that has happened is that my sister got offered a place in the Miss Teen World Supermodel pageant so she will be flying over to the Gold coast Australia next Sunday for 5 days!! It was be a wonderful experience for her!!! I'm really really happy for her!! :)

Currently enjoying the gorgious summer weather...
