Early Christmas Celebration
On Friday Anita, Melissa and I had a girls day out, celebrating Christmas. Since Anita was leaving on Saturday and Melissa is going off to Malaysia in December we decided to have an early Christmas celebration get together. Liz also joined us later on in the day after she finished work.
I met Anita and Melissa at Queensgate in the morning (10:30am) and then we all went around Queensgate. Melissa did some of her Christmas shopping and we all did a lot of talking! After having lunch at the food court (chinese food for me! had so much that I probably won't feel like having sweet and sour pork for a long time!) and chatting for a while we continued our way around Queensgate. We discovered that Christina works at Mr Bunn cafe upstairs and we went to say hi to her several times.
After going around some shops we went upstairs to Sky City Cinemas where we found Timezone which had a photo sticker booth! We have never (well once) done sticker photos before, and this time we got addicted to the sticker booth so ended up making 3 sets of sticker photos! Suvinirs from our outing! But then we needed scissors to cut the photos up so we went back to Mr Bunn cafe and asked Christina for scissors.Melissa then showed us a chocolate shop that just opened up. It also had a cafe so we went there for a while. This was after lunch and I was full, but Anita and Melissa still managed to gulp down a glass of cold chocolate each! I had no idea how they did it! Last time when me and Melissa had a girls day out she persuaded me to have a double scoop ice cream after lunch... umm I didn't feel too great afterwards! so we just sat there at the cafe talking, when I decided to randomly take some photos. So I opened my bag searching for my camera and found that it was gone! I was so shocked! I only got it a few weeks ago!!! We then rushed back to the last place that we've been that was the photo booth in Timezone. I must have dropped it while we were busy being obsessed with taking photos at the photo booth. I prayed that it would still be there and to my great relief it was! Whew!

It was almost 3pm and Liz texted to say she would be coming on the bus now, so we made our way to the sushi cafe at the other end of Queensgate. We sat at the cafe talking for a while until Liz arrived and then we had a nice time catching up and exchanging Christmas gifts. I got Liz a wallet, Melissa a photo frame with a photo of her after prizegiving with her trophy and Anita I got a mini version of the game Operation- great practice for Anita and her Doctor friends! ;).
Lizzie
After sitting chatting for a while and taking some photos (we were all too tired by now to do any more shopping, now 4pm!) it was time for Liz to catch her bus so we walked her to the bus stop. At this point Melissa realized that today is her parents wedding anniversary she decided to buy a cake. On the way we bumped into Laura I. one of our classmates from school who I haven't seen since our senior prizegiving in 2005 so we stood and talked for a bit. It is always so nice to catch up with old classmates! Then we said bye to Laura and Liz got on her bus while Anita, Melissa and I went to Woolworths so Melissa could get her cake. Shortly after Melissa's Mum came to pick us up. We had our final hugs and byes with Anita (not going to see her for a year, wah!!) who then went to catch the bus home, while Melissa's Mum took me home.
It has been a great day overall and I felt extremily lucky to have such an awesome group of friends! It's great how although years go and things change, true friendships stay the same.
